Being an admirer of European folk metal, which I discovered on Youtube some years ago, I just came across this video from Italian band, The Sidh, with a cool Scottish piper (apart from the hat), Iain Marr, giving dance music fused with metal one of those pasta twists; it gets my joy going....apparently nearly 7 million viewed the video; our European friends know how to mix trad with modern......Recently, on Visual Radio Arts, Soundcheck (see Facebook: @visualradioarts), I presented Devon's alternative Folk band Talisker, sporting a macho looking Harp that wouldn't look out of place in a heavy metal band....let the imagination flow....
