Wilde winds blow through Somerset
Otto Wilde at the Nunney Acoustic Cafe, nr Frome, 10th Feb 2019
Written by Chris Watson
Although it was an Acoustic Cafe with a quality sound system, I had already seen the electric guitar and effects box on stage and wondered what was coming. As I observed him setting up, I was intrigued by Otto's persona, uniquely dressed and exuding a warmth and confidence of someone who relished the stage. He proved to be a natural performer with much presence and drama and mesmerised the capacity audience.
It was a startling performance of original songs and I could certainly see the influence of Hendrix. Quoted on his Facebook page @ottowildemusic, he has been lauded by BBC Radio Somerset as "someone who sounds like a 60 year old who has lived life to the full" Well, the voice we hear belies his youth and the overall sound is unique and powerful. He is certainly a talented singer/songwriter with an electrifying impact. He is currently recording his debut EP. My videos are only a sample of what he can do and I suggest you see more at @ottowildemusic as well as his upcoming gigs
